Media is a very strong outlet where-in, if you go viral it can either boost your popularity or the sales of a company. However, media can be manipulated in many ways and people sometimes abuse it’s power and damage or even possibly destroy their career

Here you can see that Justin Bieber and the Mandalay Bay both being clickbaited for views. This “clickbait” leads people to check the link so they can earn money from the advertisements that are put onto the site. Not only does this give false conclusion on what actually happened, it also gives both Justin Bieber and the Mandalay Bay a bad image.

There is an increase of fake news going around lately because of the internet trolls. Many websites are able to make a template where-in the trolls can just simply input the “fake news” that they want to put and post it in any social media they want. Personally, a lot of these websites and trolls I have encountered. Examples of these are fake suspension of classes and fake government news that are spread online

How do we stop this?

We can stop people from seeing fake news by reporting the post from the social media it was posted to. This will help the moderators identify which posts are fake and which posts are real and important news. It is a job that all people should do, to create a better and a more honest way of delivering news to the public.
